Unicorns

This Week's Good Work Insight

Some people look for unicorns.

We search for unicorns with halos.

They can be hard to find, but they are real.

Invisible? In fact, no. (At least not when you know what to look for.)

Shy–sometimes–but shyness shouldn’t be confused with humility.

Distinctive, yes. To be valued, yes-yes.

Surprisingly great team players, they often associate together.

Now–the halos . . .

They have great endurance but aren’t workaholics.

They make great friends (so long as you don’t pick on the weak or cheat or lie).

Though they are present in their work, they have an eye for eternal things. They’ve a built-in moral compass.

They bear responsibility and difficulty with grace.

Sometimes we forget about them, but we always depend on them.

And we aspire to be them.

As we should.
