1. Introduction
Sól Recruiting, Coaching, and Consulting ("Sól," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have.
This Policy applies to [WEBSITE URL] (the "Site") and to our recruiting, coaching, and consulting services (collectively, the "Services"), including when you contact us, submit an inquiry, apply for a position, subscribe to our communications, or otherwise interact with us.
By using our Site or Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or Services.
2. Who this Policy covers
Because of the nature of our work, this Policy applies to several groups of people, including:
- Website visitors who browse the Site.
- Prospective and current clients — employers, organizations, and individuals engaging our recruiting, coaching, or consulting Services.
- Job seekers, candidates, and applicants who apply for roles or join our talent network.
- Coaching and consulting participants.
- Subscribers to our newsletter or marketing communications.
- Anyone who contacts us through a form, email, or other channel.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide to us
- Contact and inquiry information — such as your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, role, and the contents of any message when you complete a contact, consulting, or hiring inquiry form or otherwise reach out to us.
- Candidate and applicant information — such as your resume or CV, employment and education history, skills, certifications, professional references, desired role and compensation, work-authorization status, and any other information you choose to include when you apply for a position, join our talent network, or participate in the recruiting process.
- Coaching and consulting information — such as intake questionnaires, goals, background, and other information you provide as part of an engagement.
- Marketing preferences — such as your email address and subscription preferences when you sign up for our newsletter or other communications.
- Communications — records and copies of your correspondence with us.
3.2 Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Usage and device data — such as your IP address, approximate location, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and access dates and times.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7 for details.
3.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from third parties, such as professional networking or job-listing platforms, referral sources, and the references you provide. If we ever engage a third party to conduct background or reference checks in connection with a placement, we will do so consistent with applicable law and, where required, with your authorization.
3.4 A note on sensitive information
In the recruiting context, documents you submit (such as a resume) may contain information some laws treat as sensitive. Please do not submit sensitive information — such as Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial account details, or information about health, race, ethnicity, religion, or similar categories — unless we specifically request it and it is necessary for a legitimate purpose. We handle any sensitive information we do receive in accordance with applicable law.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information for purposes including:
- Providing, operating, and delivering our Services;
- Matching candidates with prospective employers and facilitating the recruiting process;
- Delivering coaching and consulting engagements;
- Responding to your inquiries and communicating with you;
- Processing and evaluating applications and managing our talent network;
- Sending newsletters, updates, and marketing communications (subject to the choices in Sections 7 and 9);
- Operating, maintaining, analyzing, personalizing, improving, and securing the Site and Services;
- Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, security issues, and technical problems;
- Complying with our legal and regulatory obligations and enforcing our agreements; and
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims, and other purposes with your consent.
5. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)
Where a privacy law that requires a "legal basis" applies to our processing, we rely as appropriate on: your consent; the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request; our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business (balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf — for example, website hosting, data storage, email and marketing communications, form processing and workflow automation, and website analytics. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us and are contractually required to protect it.
- Employers and hiring clients. As an inherent part of recruiting, we share candidate information (such as your resume and qualifications) with prospective employers and clients considering you for a role.
- Professional advisors. We may share information with our legal, accounting, insurance, and other advisors as needed.
- Legal compliance and protection. We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms and agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sól, our clients, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent or at your direction.
Some privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly to include certain uses of analytics or advertising technologies. To the extent those definitions apply to our use of cookies or analytics, you can exercise choices as described in Sections 7 and 9.
7. Cookies, analytics, and tracking technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and improve it.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit, what pages they view, and what other sites they used before arriving. We use this information only to improve the Site and Services. You can learn about Google's practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Managing cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Site may not function properly. Where required by law, we present a cookie/consent banner that lets you manage non-essential cookies.
Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond, our Site does not currently respond to these signals, except where we are required to treat an opt-out preference signal as a valid request under applicable law.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may retain candidate information after a particular search concludes so that we can consider you for future opportunities, unless you ask us to delete it. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. Your privacy choices and rights
9.1 Choices available to everyone
- Marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We may still send you non-marketing messages related to your account, applications, or engagements.
- Access and updates. You may contact us to review or update the personal information you have provided.
9.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it;
- Delete personal information we have collected, subject to exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
You may submit a request using the contact details in Section 15. We will verify your identity before responding and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
9.3 Residents of other U.S. states
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under a comprehensive state privacy law (for example, laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and a growing number of other states). These rights commonly include the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and certain profiling. Where these laws grant a right to appeal a decision on your request, we will provide instructions for doing so. To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described in Section 15.
9.4 How to exercise your rights
To make a request, contact us at goodwork@solrcc.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
10. Children's privacy
The Site and Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials you use with us confidential.
12. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
13. Users located outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States. If you access the Site or Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate or required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site or Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
